How it works
From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Enspryng). It describes the substance, not this exact product.
The precise mechanism by which satralizumab-mwge exerts therapeutic effects in NMOSD is unknown but is presumed to involve inhibition of IL-6-mediated signaling through binding to soluble and membrane-bound IL-6 receptors.
Suppression of IL-6 signaling by treatment with ENSPRYNG, from the low baseline levels seen in Study 1 and Study 2, is expected to have a minor impact on exposure of concomitant medications metabolized by CYP450 enzymes.
Monoclonal antibodies, including satralizumab-mwge, are not eliminated via renal or hepatic pathways.
