Regulation of glucose metabolism is the primary activity of insulins and insulin analogs, including insulin lispro products.
Insulins lower blood glucose by stimulating peripheral glucose uptake by skeletal muscle and fat, and by inhibiting hepatic glucose production.

Safety of the active substance

- ADMELOG is contraindicated: during episodes of hypoglycemia [see Warnings and Precautions (5.3) ]. in patients who are hypersensitive to insulin lispro or to any of the excipients in ADMELOG [see Warnings and Precautions (5.5) ].
- Do not use during episodes of hypoglycemia.
- ( 4 ) Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to insulin lispro or any of the excipients in ADMELOG.
The most frequently reported infusion site-related reactions were infusion site erythema and infusion site reaction.
