How it works

Mitomycin inhibits the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
The guanine and cytosine content correlates with the degree of mitomycin-induced cross-linking.
Mitomycin is metabolized primarily in the liver, but metabolism occurs in other tissues as well.
Mitomycin is eliminated unchanged in the urine.

- JELMYTO is contraindicated in patients with perforation of the bladder or upper urinary tract.
- Perforation of the bladder or upper urinary tract.
The most common adverse reactions (≥ 20%) reported were ureteric obstruction, flank pain, urinary tract infection, hematuria, renal dysfunction, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, dysuria, and vomiting.
