How it works
From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Risperidone). It describes the substance, not this exact product.
The mechanism of action of risperidone in schizophrenia is unclear.
The drug’s therapeutic activity in schizophrenia could be mediated through a combination of dopamine Type 2 (D2) and serotonin Type 2 (5HT2) receptor antagonism.
Risperidone is extensively metabolized in the liver.
Risperidone and its metabolites are eliminated via the urine and, to a much lesser extent, via the feces.
Food Effect Food does not affect either the rate or extent of absorption of risperidone.
