What it is for
Octaplex se usa para tratar y prevenir hemorragias:
- Octaplex pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominado factores de coagulación. Contiene factores de coagulación humanos II, VII, IX y X dependientes de la vitamina K.

Do not take it if
- Si es alérgico al complejo de protrombina humano o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento ( incluidos en la sección 6 ).
- Si es alérgico a la heparina o si la heparina le ha producido alguna vez una reducción del nivel de plaquetas en su sangre.
- Si tiene deficiencia de IgA con anticuerpos conocidos frente a la IgA.

How to take it

- El tratamiento con Octaplex debe ser supervisado por un médico con experiencia en el tratamiento de los trastornos de la coagulación de la sangre.
- Primero se disuelve el polvo en agua.
- Luego la solución se administra a través de una vena (vía intravenosa).

Warnings and precautions
- Solicite el consejo de un médico especialista con experiencia en el tratamiento de los trastornos de la coagulación, cuando reciba Octaplex.
- Si usted tiene un déficit adquirido de factores de coagulación dependientes de la vitamina K (por ejemplo el causado por el tratamiento con medicamentos antagonistas de la vitamina K), solo puede utilizarse Octaplex si es necesaria una rápida corrección del déficit como en hemorragias importantes o en cirugía de emergencia. En otros casos, suele ser suficiente disminuir la dosis de antagonistas de la vitamina K y/o la administración de vitamina K.
- Si usted recibe un medicamento antagonista de la vitamina K (como warfarina) puede tener un riesgo mayor de formar coágulos de sangre. En este caso, el tratamiento con Octaplex puede aumentar el riesgo.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Octaplex solo debe utilizarse en el embarazo y la lactancia si es claramente necesario. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar cualquier medicamento.

Other medicines
- Octaplex no se debe mezclar con otros medicamentos.
- Octaplex bloquea el efecto de los medicamentos antagonistas de la vitamina K (como Warfarina), pero no se conocen interacciones con otros medicamentos.
- Octaplex puede afectar a los resultados de los test de coagulación que son sensibles a la heparina.

How to store it
- Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.
- No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la etiqueta. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.
