Do not take it if
- si es alérgico a quetiapina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
- si está tomando alguno de los siguientes medicamentos:
- Algunos medicamentos para el VIH.
- Medicamentos de tipo azol (para las infecciones fúngicas).
- Eritromicina o claritromicina (para las infecciones).
- Nefazodona (para la depresión).
- No tome Quetiapina cinfa si lo anteriormente mencionado es aplicable a usted. Si tiene alguna duda, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar quetiapina.

Warnings and precautions
- Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar Quetiapina cinfa:
- si usted, o algún familiar, tiene o ha tenido algún problema de corazón, por ejemplo, problemas en el ritmo del corazón, debilidad de musculatura cardíaca o inflamación del corazón o si está tomando cualquier medicamento que pueda afectar al latido de su corazón.
- si usted tiene la tensión arterial baja.
- Si usted ha tenido un accidente cerebrovascular, especialmente si es un paciente de edad avanzada.
- si usted tiene problemas de hígado.
- si usted alguna vez ha presentado un ataque epiléptico (convulsión).
- si padece depresión u otras afecciones que se tratan con antidepresivos. El uso de estos medicamentos junto con Quetiapina cinfa puede provocar síndrome serotoninérgico, una afección potencialmente mortal (ver «Otros medicamentos y Quetiapina cinfa»).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.
- No debe tomar quetiapina durante el embarazo, a menos que lo haya consultado a su médico. No debe utilizar quetiapina si está en período de lactancia materna.
- Los siguientes síntomas, que pueden representar un síndrome de abstinencia, pueden aparecer en el recién nacido, cuyas madres han tomado quetiapina en el tercer trimestre de embarazo (últimos tres meses de embarazo): temblor, rigidez muscular y/o debilidad, somnolencia, agitación, problemas respiratorios, y dificultad para comer. Si su bebé desarrolla alguno de estos síntomas puede ser necesario que contacte con su médico.

Other medicines
- Informe a su médico o farmacéutico si está tomando, ha tomado recientemente o pudiera tener que tomar cualquier otro medicamento.
- No tome quetiapina si está utilizando alguno de los siguientes medicamentos:
- Algunos medicamentos para el VIH.

Driving and using machines
Quetiapina puede producir síntomas tales como somnolencia, mareo o alteraciones en la vista, y disminuir la capacidad de reacción. Estos efectos, así como la propia enfermedad pueden dificultar su capacidad para conducir vehículos o manejar máquinas. Por lo tanto, no conduzca, ni maneje máquinas, ni practique otras actividades que requieran especial atención, hasta que su médico valore su respuesta a este medicamento.

Side effects
- Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.
- Si sufre alguno de los siguientes efectos adversos graves, deje de tomar quetiapina y vaya a su médico o al hospital más cercano:

How to store it
- Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.
- No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de “CAD”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.
- Conservar en el embalaje original para protegerlo de la humedad.
