Do not take it if
- si es alérgico a quetiapina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento ( incluidos en la sección 6 )
- si está tomando alguno de los siguientes medicamentos:
- Algunos medicamentos para el VIH
- Medicamentos de tipo azol (para las infecciones producidas por hongos)
- Eritromicina o claritromicina (para las infecciones)
- Nefazodona (para la depresión).
- Si tiene alguna duda, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar este medicamento.

Warnings and precautions
- Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar quetiapina :
- si usted, o algún familiar, tiene o ha tenido algún problema de corazón, por ejemplo, problemas en el ritmo del corazón, debilitamiento del músculo del corazón o inflamación del corazón o si está tomando cualquier medicamento que pueda afectar al latido de su corazón .
- si tiene la presión arterial baja.
- si ha tenido un accidente cerebrovascular, especialmente si tiene una edad avanzada.
- si tiene problemas de hígado.
- si alguna vez ha presentado un ataque epiléptico (convulsión).
- si padece diabetes o tiene riesgo de padecer diabetes. Si es así, su médico podría controlar sus niveles de azúcar en sangre mientras esté tomando quetiapina.
- si sabe que ha tenido en el pasado niveles bajos de glóbulos blancos (los cuales pueden o no haber sido causados por otros medicamentos).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico antes de utilizar este medicamento. No debe tomar quetiapina durante el embarazo, a menos que lo haya consultado a su médico. No debe utilizar quetiapina si está en período de lactancia materna.
- Los siguientes síntomas, que pueden representar un síndrome de abstinencia, pueden aparecer en niños recién nacidos de madres que han utilizado quetiapina en el último trimestre (últimos tres meses de su embarazo): temblor, rigidez muscular y/o debilidad, somnolencia, agitación, problemas respiratorios, y dificultad en la alimentación. Si su recién nacido desarrolla alguno de estos síntomas puede ser necesario que contacte con su médico.

Side effects
- Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.
- Muy frecuentes : pueden afectar a más de 1 de cada 10 personas
- Mareo (podría dar lugar a caídas), dolor de cabeza, sequedad de boca.

How to store it
- Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.
- No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en el envase después de CAD. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.
- No requiere condiciones especiales de conservación.
