Do not take it if
- Si es alérgico a quetiapina o a alguno de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6).
- Si está tomando alguno de los siguientes medicamentos:
- ‑ Algunos medicamentos contra el VIH.
- ‑ Medicamentos azólicos (para las infecciones fúngicas).
- ‑ Eritromicina o claritromicina (para las infecciones).
- ‑ Nefazodona (para la depresión).
- No tome quetiapina si lo anteriormente mencionado es aplicable a usted. En caso de duda, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar quetiapina.

How to take it
These directions are for this exact strength and form. Another one is different.
Siga exactamente las instrucciones de administración indicadas por su médico para este medicamento. Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico si tiene dudas. Su médico decidirá su dosis inicial. La dosis de mantenimiento (dosis diaria) dependerá de su enfermedad y de sus necesidades, pero normalmente estará entre 150 mg y 800 mg.

Warnings and precautions
- Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar este medicamento si:
- Usted, o algún familiar, tiene o ha tenido algún problema de corazón, por ejemplo, problemas del ritmo cardíaco, debilitamiento del músculo del corazón o inflamación del corazón o está tomando cualquier medicamento que pueda afectar al latido de su corazón.
- Tiene la tensión arterial baja.
- Ha tenido un accidente cerebrovascular, especialmente si es una persona de edad avanzada.
- Tiene problemas de hígado.
- Alguna vez ha presentado un ataque epiléptico (convulsiones).
- Padece diabetes o tiene riesgo de padecer diabetes. Si es así, su médico podría controlar sus niveles de azúcar en sangre mientras esté tomando quetiapina.
- Sabe que ha tenido en el pasado niveles bajos de glóbulos blancos (que pueden o no haber sido causados por otros medicamentos).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de utilizar este medicamento.
- No debe tomar quetiapina durante el embarazo, a menos que lo haya consultado con su médico. No debe tomar quetiapina si está en período de lactancia.
- Los siguientes síntomas, que pueden suponer la retirada, pueden aparecer en recién nacidos de madres que han utilizado quetiapina en el último trimestre (últimos tres meses del embarazo): temblor, rigidez y/o debilidad muscular, somnolencia, agitación, problemas respiratorios y dificultad en la alimentación. Si su bebé presenta alguno de estos síntomas debe contactar con su médico.

Side effects

How to store it
- Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.
- No utilice este medicamento después de la fecha de caducidad que aparece en la caja después de "CAD" o “EXP”. La fecha de caducidad es el último día del mes que se indica.
- Conservar en el embalaje exterior para protegerlo de la humedad.
