How it works

From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Fluorescein). It describes the substance, not this exact product.

Fluorescein sodium responds to electromagnetic radiation and light between the wavelengths of 465 nm to 490 nm and fluoresces, i.e., emits light at wavelengths of 520 nm to 530 nm.

Thus, the hydrocarbon is excited by blue light and emits light that appears yellowish green.

How the body breaks it down

Fluorescein is metabolized to fluorescein monoglucuronide.

How it leaves the body

Fluorescein and its metabolite are mainly eliminated via renal excretion.
