How it works
From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Prednisone delayed release). It describes the substance, not this exact product.
Naturally occurring corticosteroids (hydrocortisone and cortisone), which also have salt-retaining properties, are used as replacement therapy in adrenocortical deficiency states.
Their synthetic analogs, such as prednisone, are primarily used for their potent anti-inflammatory effects in disorders of many organ systems.
While the pharmacokinetic profile of prednisone delayed-release tablets when given with food differs in terms of lag time from IR prednisone, its absorption, distribution, and elimination processes are comparable.
