How it works
From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Oxycodone Hydrochloride). It describes the substance, not this exact product.
Oxycodone is a full opioid agonist and is relatively selective for the mu-opioid receptor, although it can bind to other opioid receptors at higher doses.
The principal therapeutic action of oxycodone is analgesia.
A high portion of oxycodone is N-dealkylated to noroxycodone during first-pass metabolism, and is catalyzed by CYP3A4.
Free and conjugated noroxycodone, free and conjugated oxycodone, and oxymorphone are excreted in human urine following a single oral dose of oxycodone.
Food Effect A single-dose food effect study was conducted in normal volunteers using the 5 mg/5 mL solution.
