Information, not medical advice
Mediclarum is a general information reference. Everything on it — medicine and supplement pages, blood-test pages, calculators and every other tool — is provided for general information only. It is not medical, pharmaceutical, nutritional or other professional advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for them.
Using the site does not create a doctor–patient, pharmacist–patient or any other professional relationship with the operator.
Always ask a professional
Always ask your doctor, pharmacist or another qualified health professional about any question you have regarding a medical condition, a medicine or a supplement, and always read the leaflet that comes with your medicine.
Never start, stop, change or combine medicines or supplements, change a dose, or disregard or delay professional advice, because of something you have read on the site.
In an emergency
If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately: 112 in the European Union, 911 in the United States. For a possible poisoning or overdose in the United States, call Poison Control on 1-800-222-1222. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States, or your local crisis line. Do not use the site in an emergency.
Where the information comes from
Medicine and supplement information is quoted from official sources — product labels and leaflets, regulators’ registers and public databases — and the source is named on each page. Unless a page says otherwise, it has not been reviewed by a doctor or pharmacist.
Official sources can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and copying and processing them can introduce errors. The official label or leaflet, and the regulator’s own record, always prevail. The leaflet in your pack is the version that applies to your medicine.
What the absence of information means
The absence of a warning, interaction, side effect, contraindication or ingredient for a product does not mean that it is safe, effective or appropriate for you. Labels do not list every possible effect, and not every label is held by the site.
The ingredient check quotes what a label lists. A label that does not name an ingredient is not a guarantee that the product is free of it. With an allergy or intolerance, check the pack and ask a pharmacist.
Products with the same active substance are not necessarily interchangeable. Showing them together is not a recommendation to switch.
Supplements
Supplement pages show what a manufacturer filed on its label, including its claims. Those statements have not been evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration or any other regulator, and dietary supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Showing a claim is not an endorsement of it.
Blood tests and tools
The blood-test pages explain what a test measures, using public sources. Reference ranges differ between laboratories, methods, ages and sexes; the range on your own report is the one that applies to you. The site does not interpret results or diagnose. Calculators are not validated for clinical use.
Peptides and unapproved substances
Information about peptides and other substances sold outside the regulated supply chain describes their regulatory status only. The site does not recommend, endorse or give doses for any unapproved substance. Products sold as “research chemicals” are not approved medicines, and their contents may not be what the label says.
No endorsement
Naming a product, brand, manufacturer or substance is not a recommendation, endorsement or advertisement. The site sells nothing, accepts no payment from manufacturers or pharmacies, and orders nothing by payment. Trade names belong to their owners.
No liability for reliance
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the individual named in the Legal notice is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from reliance on information on the site, or from any decision or action taken on the basis of it. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, or your mandatory rights as a consumer. The full terms are in the Terms of Use.
Reporting an error
If you find information that is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page or at the address given in the Legal notice. Corrections are published in the corrections log. To report a side effect of a medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist, or your national regulator (in the United States, FDA MedWatch: 1-800-FDA-1088 or www.fda.gov/medwatch).
