Lidocaine stabilizes the neuronal membrane by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of impulses, thereby effecting local anesthetic action.

Lidocaine is metabolized rapidly by the liver, and metabolites and unchanged drug are excreted by the kidneys.

How to take it

  • apply a thin layer to affected area every 6 to 8 hours, not to exceed 3 applications in a 24 hour period children 12 years or younger:
