What it is for
- Algidrin pediátrico pertenece al grupo de medicamentos denominados antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINEs). Ibuprofeno, principio activo de este medicamento, que se presenta en forma de sal soluble, ibuprofeno (lisina), reduce la fiebre y alivia el dolor y la inflamación.

Do not take it if
- Si es alérgico (hipersensible) al ibuprofeno, a cualquier otro antiinflamatorio no esteroideo, al ácido acetilsalicílico o a cualquiera de los demás componentes de este medicamento (incluidos en la sección 6). Las reacciones que indican la alergia podrían ser: erupción cutánea con picor, hinchazón de la cara, labios o lengua, secreción nasal, dificultad respiratoria o asma.
- Si padece una enfermedad grave del hígado o los riñones.
- Si ha tenido una úlcera o hemorragia de estómago o duodeno o ha sufrido una perforación del aparato digestivo.
- Si vomita sangre.
- Si presenta heces negras o diarrea con sangre.
- Si padece trastornos hemorrágicos o de la coagulación sanguínea o está tomando anticoagulantes (medicamentos utilizados para “fluidificar” la sangre). Si es necesario utilizar a la vez medicamentos anticoagulantes, el médico realizará unas pruebas para la coagulación sanguínea.

How to take it

- Su médico le indicará la duración del tratamiento con este medicamento. No suspenda el tratamiento antes de lo indicado ya que podría no tener el efecto esperado.

Warnings and precautions
- Con el ibuprofeno se han notificado signos de reacción alérgica a este medicamento, como problemas respiratorios, hinchazón de la cara y de la región del cuello (angioedema), y dolor torácico. Deje de utilizar inmediatamente Algidrin pediátrico y póngase en contacto inmediatamente con su médico o con el servicio de urgencias si observa alguno de estos sígnos.
- Consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de empezar a tomar este medicamento.
- Si tiene edemas (retención de líquidos).
- Si padece o ha padecido algún trastorno del corazón o tiene tensión arterial alta.
- Si padece asma o cualquier otro trastorno respiratorio.
- Si padece una enfermedad de los riñones o del hígado, tiene más de 60 años o necesita tomar el medicamento de forma prolongada (más de 1 a 2 semanas), es posible que su médico deba efectuar controles de forma regular. Su médico le indicará la frecuencia de estos controles.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
El uso de este medicamento no se recomienda en mujeres que estén intentando quedarse embarazadas. Si está embarazada o en periodo de lactancia, cree que podría estar embarazada o tiene intención de quedarse embarazada, consulte a su médico o farmacéutico antes de tomar este medicamento.

Driving and using machines
Si experimenta mareo, vértigo, alteraciones de la visión u otros síntomas mientras esté tomando este medicamento, no debe conducir ni utilizar maquinaria peligrosa. Si solamente toma una dosis del medicamento o durante un periodo corto, no es necesario que adopte precauciones especiales.

Side effects
- Al igual que todos los medicamentos, este medicamento puede producir efectos adversos, aunque no todas las personas los sufran.

How to store it
- Mantener este medicamento fuera de la vista y del alcance de los niños.
- Conservar por debajo de 30°C.
- Una vez abierto el envase debe usarse en los 12 meses siguientes a su apertura.
