How it works

From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (Ibuprofen). It describes the substance, not this exact product.

Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that possesses anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity.

Its mode of action, like that of other NSAIDs, is not completely understood, but may be related to prostaglandin synthetase inhibition.

The shape is a standard model drawn from the two times above, not a measurement. How fast a medicine acts and wears off also depends on the dose, the form and the person.
How the body breaks it down

Elimination - Ibuprofen is rapidly metabolized and eliminated in the urine.

How it leaves the body

Ibuprofen is well absorbed orally, with less than 1% being excreted in the urine unchanged.

With food

Food Effects – Absorption is most rapid when ibuprofen is given under fasting conditions.
