Adult and Children 12 years of age and over :: clean and dry affected area Remove film from patch and apply to the skin (see illustration) Apply 1 patch at a time to affected area, not more than 3 to 4 times daily Remove patch from the skin after at most 8-hour application

How it works
From the US prescribing label for the same active substance (LIDOCAINE). It describes the substance, not this exact product.
Lidocaine stabilizes the neuronal membrane by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of impulses, thereby effecting local anesthetic action.
Lidocaine is metabolized rapidly by the liver, and metabolites and unchanged drug are excreted by the kidneys.
